British Companies
The structure of the British army changed as the war went on, but infantry companies virtually remained the same. The basic infantry section was led by a Corporal with a Lance Corporal as his assistant, it was split into two groups with the first being the rifle group and the second being the gun group. Three of these sections and a small HQ made up a standard British infantry platoon.
