Notes | The M8 the main Armoured Car issued to US forces in World War Two, initially the military required a tank destroyer with a fully armoured turret to replace the M6 GMC but after the need for a more powerful gun they idea was dropped and the vehicle became the M8. It was fast and reliable and the 37mm M6 Gun though light could hold its own against German armoured cars. The M8 first saw action in Italy in cavalry reconnaissance troops and went on the serve on all fronts and later in the Korean War. |
