NotesThe M3A3 was the same gun as the M1A1 pack howitzer but was mounted on a M3A1 carriage. This carriage had pneumatic wheels like the M1A1/M8 and a split trail but was not designed for pack transport. It was supposed to be limbered for high speed towing and to be used as a field howitzer with either horse artillery or mechanized units.
