Reorganized and redesignated 1 August 1942 as the 4th Motorized Division.
Reorganized and redesignated 4 August 1943 as the 4th Infantry Division.
Inactivated 12 March 1946 at Camp Butner, North Carolina.
Activated 15 July 1947 at Fort Ord, California.
