Inactivated 9 May 1919 at Camp Devens, Massachusetts.
Activated 21 March 1923 with headquarters at Boston, Massachusetts.
Ordered into active federal service 16 January 1941.
Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1942 as the 26th Infantry Division.
Inactivated 20 December 1945 at Camp Myles Standish, Massachusetts.
Activated 13 November 1946 with headquarters at Boston, Massachusetts.
