Notes | Introduced in 1933 the Browning designed M2 is still in use today as an Infantry support weapon. It fired a heavy .50 cal belt fed round operated by short recoil and is air cooled. It can be found mounted on nearly every vehicle in the US Military and the M3 Mount allowed it be used in the ground and in anti-aircraft role. During WW2 one M2 was issued to Weapon Platoon HQs in Infantry Companies. |
