Notes | The M6 high speed tractors was simply a larger and heavier version of the M4 HST. Built by Allis-Chalmers It had an extra two running wheels added to each side with suspension units and two engines. It was designed to tow the 8in Gun and 240mm Howitzer. It was first issued in 1944 and saw action in the later stages of World War Two. The M6 HST was not sent to Korea due to the lack of heavy artillery and were later sold to other countries as the army adopted more self-propelled guns. |
