NotesThe first in a long line of successful Centurion’s was the Mk.I, the first 15 had the same 17 pdr gun that was used on the Firefly and were known as A41s, the last five had the same 77mm that was mounted on the Comet and these were known as the A41S. The first 10 had a coaxially fired 20mm cannon with the final ten having a 7.92mm Besa, the suspension system was the Horstmann, which was easier to maintain in the field. The first six produced were sent for field trials in Europe but the war ended before they began.
