Finnish Infantry Weapons

The Finnish army equipped its infantry companies with light robust weapons. Finnish officers were issued with Lugar and Lahti pistols and NCOs were armed with Lahti sub-machine guns. Infantry units were equipped with Mosin-Nagant rifles and supplemented by improved models built by Finnish armament factories. The standard platoon light machine gun was the Lahti-Saloranta M/26 with the heavier Maxim machine guns equipping machine gun companies. Infantry support weapons consisted medium mortars and heavy anti-tank rifles, these were built by local firms of Tampella and Lahti.
