NotesThe Panhard 178 was one of the best early war armoured cars. It was designed as a reconnaissance vehicle and issued to cavalry squadrons. The first unit to receive the Panhard was the 6e Cuirassiers. Other mechanised units began to receive them and around 370 were available in 1940.
