NotesThe Panzerjäger I was the first in a line of German tank destroyers. It utilised the chassis of the Panzer Mk. I B tank. The turret was removed and the superstructure was altered by the removal of part of the roof. The gun was the Czech 47mm PaK(t) which was mounted on a pedestal with only a shield to protect the crew. It was developed to give anti-tank companies mobility in the field and keep pace with motorised and armoured units. It saw widespread action during the early phase of the war and saw action in France, Belgium, Russia and North Africa.
