Notes | The Panzerbefehlswagen Ausf D1 was the first in a line of armoured command vehicles which utilised the Panzer III design. The model first used was the Ausf D and this had a large frame antenna and dummy gun. The Pz.Bef.Wg III Ausf D1 was issued to HQ units at regimental and brigade level. It saw action in France during the 1940 campaign, but most were withdrawn by 1941 due to suspension problems. |
