Notes | The leIG 18 was a light infantry support gun which was issued at regimental level. It could fire 6 kg HE round over 3.500m and was light enough to be man handled into position. It was also issued with a 3 kg anti-tank round which was a hollow charge shell. The crew was protected by a gun shield and it also had a low silhouette. It was towed by either horse or motor vehicle and was used on every front right through the war. |
