Notes | The leIG 37 was an infantry support gun developed late in the war to supplement the leIG 18. It was initially going to be an up-graded model to be issued to infantry gun platoons and called the 7.5cm leIG 42 which was never put into production. Late in the war the infantry needed more support guns, so the leIG 42 barrel was mounted on the carriage of the obsolete PaK 36. It fired the same ammunition as the leIG 18 and was issued to infantry gun companies from mid-1944 to the end of the war. |
