NotesThe StuG M43 was originally built by the Italian firm Ansaldo and was named Semovente da 105/25. It was built on the chassis of the M15/42 tank and was considered to be the best Italian AFV of the war. Around 26 were built before the Italian surrender and some of these saw action against the Germans in the defence of Rome. The Germans had the resources to build another 91 and these were issued to infantry and panzer divisions in Italy and the Balkans.
