Notes | It was during the Russian campaign that the need to up-grade the Toldi became apparent. The Toldi IIa had better armour and a more powerful 40mm gun. This increased the vehicles weight which had an effect on the speed and range. The Toldi IIa was still inferior to most Soviet tanks but was still kept in service until 1945. |
