Notes | The Turan started life as a Skoda designed tank and after the Germans annexed Czechoslovakia they gave the Hungarians a prototype and they in turn made a number of changes. They changed the armament to suit Hungarian specifications, up-graded the armour and added a better cupola. The first Turan Is were issued to the two armoured divisions and a cavalry division and made their debut along with the Turan II in 1944. They were immediately out gunned by the Soviet T-34. |
