Notes | During 1939 the Hungarians bought a number of 210/22 heavy howitzers from Italy, and the Hungarian army named these weapons 39M. These were found to be unsuitable for towing long distances due to problems with the carriage. Improvements were made which resulted in the 40M. Later the Hungarians decided to produce their own versions and these were the 40M. |
