Notes | The L6/40 was a two man light tank which was initially issued as a reconnaissance vehicle for armoured divisions. It was also used in the infantry support role but due to Italy lacking in tank numbers it was used as a battle tank and suffered due to its light armour and main gun. It was the main Italian tank in service on the Russian front and also saw action in North Africa, The Balkans and Sicily. |
