Notes | The Chi-Ha medium tank was used a base for a number of conversions and this included a range of self-propelled guns. The Ho-Ni I was the first of these vehicles and was designed as a tank destroyer. The Japanese were forced to issue the Ho-Ni I in penny packets, mainly due to lack of numbers, many were issued to units back in Japan, but some served in Burman and the Philippines. |
