Notes | The type 98 was a light 20mm anti-aircraft gun and used in large numbers by the IJA. Its origins began with the Hotchkiss 13.2mm heavy machine gun and was developed by the Japanese. It was robust, light and easily portable and could be ready to fire in minutes. The Japanese army used this weapon as a duel anti-aircraft/anti-tank weapon. It saw action on every front until 1945. |
