Notes | The type 94 90mm mortar had a recoil system which made it very heavy. It fired a heavy round and was used as a barrage weapon in a similar way to light artillery. Because of its weight it was difficult to transport compared with other mortars of its ilk and it was gradually replaced with the light type 97. |
