The type 2 rifle grenade launcher which was a cup-type and based on the German Schiessbecher. It fired two different calibre of ordnance, a 30mm high explosive grenade and a 40mm HEAT grenade. The launcher was designed to fit both the type 38 and type 99 rifles.
