NotesThe type 89 discharger was similar to the type 10 but had improvements which gave it a longer range and accuracy. Improvements were a rifled barrel, range was set with a firing pin and fired a better range of ammunition. The two main rounds fired was the type 91 fragmentation grenade and the type 89 50mm impact round, other rounds were smoke and incendiary. The type 89 was used together with the type 10 and was much feared by allied troops because of its high range of fire and accuracy.
