Notes | The T-50 was the first Soviet light tanks to be designed totally in Russia. Previous designs had featured versions of foreign vehicles but the T-50 was a homemade tank. It was developed as a light infantry tank and was advanced for its day. It was to replace the T-26, but due to technical problems the vehicle got postponed until 1941. It was only built in small numbers and few saw service. |
