Notes | The PMHM-38 (Polkovoi Minomet) was a heavy mortar designed for use by mountain divisions and was used in the artillery role. It could be transported by horse on a light limber or could be broken down into separate loads for pack transport. It was really a scaled up version of the 82mm mortar which could either be fired by gravity or trigger. It was issued to mortar batteries located in mountain artillery regiments. |
