Yugoslavian Infantry Weapons

Yugoslav infantry officers were issued with FN pistols and regular infantry were armed with the M1924 rifle which was FN-Mauser design and built by the Yugoslavs under licence. Light machine guns were supplied by the Czech firm Brno and included the M26 and the more modern M37. Medium machine guns were of Czech and Austrian design and included M40 (Brno) and M12/26 (Schwartzlose). Small numbers of the Czech built 15mm heavy machine gun were also supplied. The standard infantry mortar was a copy of the Brandt 81mm and was built under licence in Yugoslavia.
