French Weapons
French infantry companies were armed with rifles which fired two different calibres, most of them were chambered to fire the Lebel 8x50R round, but after the First World War the French opted to change to the 7.5x54 MAS. The standard squad light machine gun was also chambered to fire the new round. This change was not fully implemented by 1940 and both calibres were still in use.
