German Infantry Guns

The German army used two calibres to arm their infantry gun companies with 75mm and 150mm weapons. 75mm gun platoons were issued with the leIG 18 and this handy little gun was used right through the war. The larger 150mm sIG 33 was the largest infantry gun used serve in World War Two and every infantry gun company had a brace of such weapons. These weapons gave the infantry regiments much needed fire support and in the case of the leIG 18 direct fire support.
